Your questions answered

Niprotect
Who can use Niprotect / which sports?

Runners of all distances use Niprotect to prevent painful chafing against their clothing and the elements – but the product is not limited to runners. Anyone taking part in physical activity where they are likely to sweat or get caught in the rain can benefit from using Niprotect, including footballers, rugby players, triathletes and cyclists.

Niprotect is also ideal for surfers looking to prevent nipple burn from their wetsuit or board, as each plaster is designed to be waterproof, breathable and flexible enough to withstand lots of movement.

What sizes are available?

Niprotect come in two sizes; 18mm and 25mm diameter.
It’s important to note that the plaster is most effective when attached to the areola only, and not the skin around it – so it’s definitely worth measuring!

How do I put them on?

Niprotect plasters are really easy to apply.

  • Make sure that both your hands and your nipples are dry and free of any oils, creams, lotions etc.
  • Line up the centre of the plaster with the centre of the nipple (doesn’t have to be super accurate!)
  • Peel back the blue-coloured backing and press on to the nipple and areola
  • Smooth the edges to make sure that that all of the plaster is in contact with the nipple / areola
  • Put your trainers on!
How do I remove Niprotect plasters?

The easiest way to remove Niprotect is during your post-exercise shower.
Allow some water to run onto your body and slowly peel away the plaster – be sure to put the used plasters into the bin, as they are not suitable for drains or being flushed.

Can anyone use Niprotect?

Yes – men, women and children are all perfectly safe to use Niprotect nipple plasters, provided they do not have any existing skin conditions. Niprotect is latex-free and hypoallergenic.
However, if your nipples are already chafed from exercising without plasters, we would recommend that you allow them to heal before using any nipple plaster – or removal may further irritate them.

RunTape
Why use RunTape?

Kinesiology tape, specifically RunTape, is designed to both prevent injury and provide support for any existing injuries or weakness. It provides general support for tendons, ligaments and muscles, as well as more mechanical support for your joints.

RunTape will also ease pulled muscles, alleviate tendinitis, ease fasciitis and improve both posture and blood flow.

When wrapped tightly, RunTape will help reduce the range of motion in joints, preventing twists and sprains – acting as a more supportive athletic tape.

Who can use RunTape / which sports?

As with our Niprotect product, RunTape is not limited to a single sport or activity. You will frequently see our tape used by runners and triathletes, as well as in more general sports such as football, rugby, netball, basketball and hockey.

RunTape provides support to muscles and joints, without restricting movement – therefore suitable for any sport.

What sizes are available?

We currently offer just the one size – 5cm wide tape, on a 5m roll.

How do I apply RunTape?

Application of any Kinesiology tape varies depending on the muscle or joint being targeted – for this reason we don’t offer specific advice in this section, but we plan to upload manuals and video content to the product listing page in the future.

However, RunTape is usually applied in one of 3 ways; I Strip, Y Strip or a Lymphatic Fan. Directions for these can be found on the product page.

We recommend applying RunTape 30 minutes before exercise to allow the tape to settle and attached to the skin. To do this…

  • Make sure that the skin is clean, dry and free of oils, creams and lotions
  • Give the tape a slight stretch (no more than 50% of the maximum stretch) and apply directly to the skin
  • Make sure the ends of the tape are not stretched
  • Go and work-out!
How do I remove RunTape?

The easiest way to remove RunTape is…

  • Apply baby oil, or warm soapy water, and leave it on the tape for around 5 minutes
  • Pull the tape away from the skin slowly and carefully, keeping your skin taut.
  • Be patient, don’t rip it off!
Can anyone use RunTape?

Yes – men, women and children are all perfectly safe to use RunTape kinesiology tape, provided they do not have any existing skin conditions.

However, please be aware that RunTape is not latex-free.
